Dog Running

Our Buddy Run is perfect for dogs who would do well with a running partner.  Dogs are social beings and usually love having a canine friend along!  We only pair dogs with compatible temperaments and activity levels, living in the same general neighborhood.  Many of our furry clients never end up being paired with a running partner.  For safety reasons, we never run more than two dogs together!  Please contact us If you have a dog who cannot be paired with another dog due to aggression, behavioral issues or require a much harder or easier workout than their peers.  We’ll be happy to discuss your concerns.

When would my dog run?  We schedule our runs between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.. In the summer, when the heat and humidity are highest, runs may take place prior to 9:00 a.m..  We require a weekly commitment of at least 2 day per week to be added to our dog running schedule.

Will my dog be safe?  Your dog’s safety will always come first.  Our runs begin with a warm-up and end with a cool-down.  We will watch your pup closely throughout the run for signs of over-heating, exhaustion or pain.  We will take needed breaks to cool down or give your dog a drink of water.  We always have a pet first aid kit, our cell phone and fresh water with us on runs and we are pet CPR/First Aid trained.

How far will my dog run? Our 30 minute runs typically cover 2.5 to 4 miles and our 60 minute runs cover between 4.5 and 7 miles. It depends on your dog’s age, breed, experience and current fitness level.

Dog Hiking

We take weekly treks to local hiking trails, beautiful parks and “watering holes”.  We load up the back pack and grab a couple of four-legged friends for a canine adventure.  It’s a fun and tiring excursion filled with hiking, socializing, exploring, an occasional chance to get their paws wet…and, of course, there are some healthy, trail-side treats!  Dog hikes are 60 minutes long (plus an additional 20-30 minutes of travel time) and are limited to 3 friendly, well-behaved dogs.  This adventure is for dogs who are physically fit and can handle varying terrain.  Please ask your vet if you’re unsure! Have no worries, we also offer private hikes for pups who need one-on-one trail time.  We’d also be happy to do a shorter, low-impact/easy terrain hiking adventure for your puppy, “out of shape” dog, or Senior Petizen!

When will my dog hike?  We schedule our hikes on weekdays, between 9am and 3pm.  We require a weekly commitment to be added to our hiking schedule.  If the trails are unusually muddy or icy, we will move the hike to a safer route.

Will my dog be safe?  Your dog’s safety will always come first.  Our group hikes are for physically fit dogs. We recommend that you get approval from your vet first before getting your dog on our hiking schedule. Our hikes begin with a warm-up and end with a cool-down.  We will watch your pup closely throughout the hike for signs of over-heating, exhaustion or pain.  We will take needed breaks to cool down or give your dog a drink of water.  We always have a pet first aid kit, our cell phone and fresh water with us on outings and we are pet CPR/First Aid trained.
